Hydraulic engineering is the core activity of Van den Herik. Dredging, coastal structure and bank protection works have always formed the basis on which the associated disciplines have found their place within the company. Channel beds and banks are the most important areas of work, and Van den Herik has extensive knowledge and expertise in;

  • maintenance and regulation of rivers;
  • construction and maintenance of quays, dams, canals and other waterways;
  • protection of channel beds and banks.

Our personnel and equipment are fully geared to all these specific activities. Specialized professionals, such as stoneworkers, osier revetment workers, crane drivers and skippers of work vessels know exactly how to deal with the elements of water, tide, currents and wind, and how to give nature the space it needs.
